NVIDIA has released a software security update for the GeForce Experience to address an issue that may lead to code execution, denial of service, or escalation of privileges.

The security flaw was originally discovered and reported by David Yesland of Rhino Security Labs.

The bug is present in Nvidia GeForce Experience versions prior to 3.18 on the Microsoft Windows operating system. The specific software versions
contain a vulnerability when ShadowPlay, NvContainer, or GameStream is enabled. When opening a file, the software does not check for hard links. This behavior may lead to code execution, denial of service, or escalation of privileges.
