New PlayStation 4 Controller Surfaces Online

New PlayStation 4 Controller Surfaces Online

Gaming Feb 15,2013 0

A second photograph of what it seems to be a game controller for Sony's upcoming Playstation 4 entertainment device appeared oonline on Friday. Yesterday gaming site Destructoid posted an image of the purported controller for Sony's next-gen PlayStation console. It seems that the same controller appears in the second photo you see below:

The controller has longer handles thn what we could identify in yesterday's photo. The controller also features analog sticks and an LCD at the center. A blue light bar on top of the controller may indicate built-in PlayStation Move technology, which would turn the traditional gamepad into a motion-control device. In addition, notice the 3.5-millimeter headphone jack placed at at the bottom. Also absent are the usual start and select buttons, while four shoulder buttons, and Sony's usual square, triangle, circle and cross face buttons remain intact.

The source of this photo is unknown, as it was posted online in some gaming forums.

Next Wednesday, Sony is expected to officially announce the Playstation 4, which will replace the Playstation 3 launched in 2006. The new console is expected to offer more realistic game play and more entertainment options.

Sony expects the new PlayStation to boost demand for Sony's online music and video service and Xperia phones and tablets. In addition, keeping game developers on board may be the reason Sony will reveal the new PlayStation more than six months before it will probably go on sale.
