Firmware Versions

When different firmware versions from NEC ND-2510A were investigated, we observed that NEC was releasing firmware versions 2.1x for their own drives, and at the same time, firmware versions 2.0x, 2.3x and 2.7x were used for NEC OEM devices. For example, firmware versions 2.16 and 2.06 used exactly the same writing strategies, but the 2.16 version was intended for the NEC ND-2510, while 2.06 was intended for the ND-2510A OEM devices. We don't know if NEC will follow the same strategy with the new ND-3500A. The drive arrived at our labs with firmware version 2.16 and we received via email an updated firmware, version 2.07. What remains to be seen is if the upcoming firmware version 2.17 will use the same writing strategies as version 2.07.
