Microsoft Talks Blue, Announces Build 2013

Microsoft Talks Blue, Announces Build 2013

Enterprise & IT Mar 26,2013 0

A Microsoft officialy today mentioned the magic word "Blue" in a blog post, as part of the announcement of the next Windows development conference, Build 2013. "Blue" is the next wave of Windows releases. Frank X. Shaw, Corporate Vice President of Corporate Communications at Microsoft, described it as part of Microsoft's plans "to advance our devices and services".

"With a remarkable foundation of products in market and a clear view of how we will evolve the company, product leaders across Microsoft are working together on plans to advance our devices and services, a set of plans referred to internally as "Blue," Shaw wtote in a blog post.

According to the post, Blue is about more than a set of new products and signifies Microsoft turn into a devices and services company that is delivering updates more frequently.

"Our customers have already experienced the ongoing rhythm of updates and innovations over the past six months including new devices, new apps and services, better performance and new capabilities. This continuous development cycle is the new normal across Microsoft - we?ll tune everyday experiences as well as introduce bold, connected and exciting new scenarios. Our product groups are also taking a unified planning approach so people get what they want ? all of their devices, apps and services working together wherever they are and for whatever they are doing," Shaw added.

According to last weekend's leaks about Blue, new user interface changes coming to the next version of Windows. Blue products will cover Windows phone, Windows Server variants and Blue versions of Windows apps and services i.e Skydrive.

A good stage for Microsoft to offer more details about Blue would be its next developer conference, Build 2013, which is taking place June 26-28, 2013 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. In addition, TechEd Europe is June 25 to 28 in Madrid.

Microsoft's Steve Guggenheimer said that at Build, developers will see what?s next for Windows, Windows Server, Windows Azure, Visual Studio and more.
