LG will not showcase its new flagship G series smartphone at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona next month.

The electronics giant will instea display an upgraded version of the V30, which was released in September last year, according to industry sources.

LG has unveiled the G series premium smartphone at the MWC since 2016 but decided to delay the latest G7 to improve its performance.

"The upgraded V30 will have the same design and hardware but come with added artificial intelligence features," an LG spokesman said.
