Optical Storage Apr 7,2005 0

Cryptic Audio will be the first CD-ROM released in the United States with a patented trademark logo by the International Federation of Phonogragh Industry (IFPI).

The CD-ROM is a compilation of music recorded by songwriters from across the United Staes and Canada. Some of the writers include Michael Brewer of Brewer and Shipley, Michael Granda (SUPE) of the Ozark Mountain Daredevils and Frank Westbrooke-previuosly of Rare Earth. A number of record producers and engineers also grace the disc including Jim Wirt of Los Angeles. The CD-ROM titled "American Music 2005" was released on March 1, 2005.

At this time the software program only allows music to be played on CD-ROM drives and does not download to hard drives or P2P services. It use its own player CODEC on the program. Presently it also plays on the new media center developed by Powerspec using Microsofts Media software 2005 edition.
