The fastest duplicator in the world

The fastest duplicator in the world

Optical Storage Apr 18,2005 0

Microboards unveiled a manual duplicator today that records ten full DVDs in under seven minutes. The unique controller architecture used by the CopyWriter Tower makes this tower-style disc copier the fastest available on the market.

The CopyWriter Tower has been shipping in its ten bay configuration since early last year. It was introduced with 8X recording drives, but now supports true 16X recording out of the box. That ability is often claimed but has been largely a myth until now.

"We've done extensive testing of competitive products and discovered that, though many boast 16X recorders, not one of them was able to reach and sustain 16X record speed during the duplication process" said John Westrum, Microboards? CTO and VP of Operations. "The controller technology used by common duplicator manufacturers simply can not support multiple drives at that speed."

Industry insiders agree with the assessment, adding that they are "pleased to see Microboards continuing to lead the charge in duplication speed. Higher throughput ability is welcomed by service bureaus and high-volume duplicators around the world," said Kevin Gabrik, V.P. of Sales at Techware. In addition to reselling duplication products, Techware is expert in the use of CD and DVD copiers, operating a formidable disc copying and printing service at their headquarters in Minneapolis.

True to form, Microboards' latest product pushes the technical envelope without sacrificing reliability or ease of use. A simple two-button interface gives users access to immediate copying ability or advanced features such as track extraction, image archival, speed selection, and verification modes. Those leading abilities have already helped the CopyWriter Tower win various industry awards, including E-Media's Editors Choice and Religious Product News' Hot Products Awards.

"Microboards prides itself on ease of use and industry-leading service and support", said Westrum. "That tradition continues with the CopyWriter Tower."

The CopyWriter Tower comes standard with a two-year limited warranty and unlimited phone support. The CopyWriter Tower will begin shipping immediately. More information is available at www.Microboards.com.
