The test subject of this review is the Super Talent T1000UX2G5 - a 2GB kit with a matched pair of 1000MHz DDR2 memory modules. Super Talent isn't as well known as some of the more popular memory brands but they've been around for a while and have a pretty solid lineup of memory modules. This company is headquartered in San Jose, California and manufactures all its memory modules in the U.S. Super Talent holds over 100 patents on DRAM and Flash module design and manufacturing processes and all their memory modules feature a lifetime warranty.

I started off by trying to find my maximum CPU FSB so I set the multiplier to 6 and worked my way up from 320MHz to 410MHz before the first crash. I couldn't get it any further than 408MHz stable, regardless of whether I dropped the multi to 5 or not. Keep in mind that this was with stock timings of 5-5-5-15. I didn't loosen timings until later, when I ran into the poof! monster. RAM frequency at this point was only 984MHz anyway and I knew there was more to come with stock timings alone. Next, I traveled through the various multipliers searching for a max stable CPU speed for this RAM and ended up with 2.85GHz. Not bad, but I was expecting over 3.0GHz like I had gotten with my 3800+ single core CPU. Perhaps this was due to the CPU being a low power version, but I am not certain. It could always just be a less desirable stepping.

Flash drives designed/marketed with Windows Vista's new ReadyBoost feature in mind are flooding the market. In this review I'm taking a look at a new ReadyBoost ready flash drive from Super Talent. Super Talent is a Californian company that makes memory modules, flash drives, SSD flash drives and a couple of other products like MP3 players and SD memory cards. They have been in the memory industry for over 20 years and hold over 100 patents in memory technology. The DH series 200x flash drives from Super Talent are available in capacities from 512MB to 8GB.

Super Talent are not a small company but rather a very experienced one with 20 years under it's belt so the kit we are looking at today, the T1000UX2G4 2 gig PC8000 1000mhz with 4, 5, 4, 15 timings should return a good performance hit over the recently reviewed Corsair dominator 1066 kit we looked at.

With Microsoft's Vista operating system and newer games like Supreme Commander sucking up system resources, 2GB of system memory is no longer a luxury, it's is fast becoming a necessity. However, not any 2GB kits will do the job, save for those running systems from Dell, Gateway, etc. For them, they'll probably never know the difference or benefits of a quality memory kit. But for those who pride themselves on benchmarking and fine tuning their systems to the cutting edge, only high octane components will do.

The Super Talent T1000UX2G5 2GB PC2-8000 DDR2 Memory Kit performs great at its advertised speed of 1000MHz and fairly relaxed timings. Using more aggressive timings (4-4-4-12) allowed this memory to operated error-free up to 1075MHz, and changing the timings back to the default 5-5-5-15 allowed the memory to run stably at 1200MHz.

No doubt about it the iPod owns the portable audio market. If one of my friends have an MP3 player 99% of the time it is some type of iPod. The iPod is such a household name that when someone wants to go out and buy an MP3 player the automatically think "iPod". Well if you are looking for an MP3 player about the size of the iPod Nano and for about half the price you should check out the Super Talent Mega Screen MP3 player. It is not just an MP3 player it also features a FM tuner, voice recorder, photo viewer, and it plays movies. Today we will be taking a look at the 2GB model.

My main interest with memory is the overclocking and how well the memory runs at a range of timings. The 1000UX2G4 showed a distinct ability to run tight timings ridiculously well. The overclocking results at the timings of 3-3-3-8/3-4-3-8 and 4-4-4-8 are the best I have seen, without a doubt. There isn't much else to say except that the Super Talent T1000UX2G4 are sure to continue to turn heads everywhere they go, as they have here today.

Super Talent has recently announced their RBST line of USB sticks that support the Windows Vista ReadyBoost feature. ReadyBoost is a technology that enables you to increase system performance without doing any complex hardware upgrades. In our testing we see that the RBST offers amazing access times of only 0.9 ms and solid transfer rates of 17 MB/s for a very competitive price.
