When Super Talent announced their Project X series of DDR3 RAM a few months back, it sounded pretty astonishing -- but at this presentation I expected it to arrive at an astonishing price relative to other sets of DDR3 RAM in the market right now. Surprisingly, Super Talent's Project X paired with Micron's excellent D9GTR ICs with sharp aluminum heatsinks is also a sharp combination with a relatively aggressive price -- at least for memory in this market segment. I've seen other DDR2-1600 RAM costing more than the Project X DDR3-1800 -- something that we don't see every day. Super Talent has been highly regarded amongst enthusiast in the past, and combined with overclocking preferred Micron D9GTR ICs, as well as a relatively lower price compared to other DDR3 RAM, I'm sure that it will live up to its reputation. But will this be a winning combination if you are in the market for performance DDR3 RAM? We'll find out today.

Benchmark Reviews continues on with our High-Speed DDR3 Overclocking and Review Series, which features over one dozen different DDR3 kits. Many of the kits we have tested so far have helped achieve extremely uncommon overclock speeds, and even some of the kits not setting speed records managed to impress us with their combination of performance and value. So far, we have reviewed the Patriot DDR3 1866MHz Kit and Mushkin DDR3 1333MHz Kit, but today we are especially pleased to test the Super Talent PC3-14400 CL7-7-7-21 W1800UX2GP DDR3 1800MHz 2x1GB RAM Kit.

The Super Talent W186IUX2G8 DDR3 memory does very well, but it will be interesting to see where the lines are drawn as more DDR3 memory comes into the lab. The speeds are pretty amazing, particularly considering the standard is still in its infancy.

It seems like the hottest trend among portable electronics these days is to get rid of physical buttons and replace them with touch sensitive controls. The Apple iPod may have that popular click wheel, but Super Talent is taking the touch sensitive route with their latest offering, the Super Talent VIDEGO24. It?s got a fairly large 2.4-inch color screen, 1GB of internal memory, and a microSD expansion slot for more storage. The features sound reasonable, but there are more than a couple of issues with the user interface and physical design.

Super Talent's bread and butter has traditionally been a mix of budget and overclocking friendly RAM, but they also showed us they know a thing or two about music players when we reviewed their Mega Screen MP3 Player last year. That was twelve months ago, and Super Talent now sports an MP3 lineup refreshed with bigger screens and snazzier feature-sets. The question is, have Super Talent's music players gotten better with age, or does the old adage 'one step forward and two steps back' apply? That's a good question, and we aim to find out!

Super Talent introduced some of the first DDR3 memory modules on the market, and in this review PCSTATS is testing the companies' 2GB W1866UX2G8 DDR3-1866 memory kit. Super Talent has these puppies to running at 1866 MHz! According to the company, each pair of DDR3 memory modules are hand tested on an Asus P5K3 Deluxe motherboard before being shipped.

Super Talent offers a wide assortment of memory modules from flash drives to the latest in DDR3 technology. Some of the other technology they have are dedicated ReadyBoost modules for Windows Vista. The particular ReadyBoost module I will be reviewing is the 2GB Exelerator which boast speeds of up to 166x. This particular module uses a 9pin header that connects to a 9pin USB header on the motherboard.

Super Talent is better known for its high speed system memory but it also does high speed USB drives and I'm not kidding on the high speed part. Its DH line of USB drives have an impressive 200x speed rating (30MB/s) and from the benchmark results, the USB drives that we tested surpassed that mark by an additional 10%! Write performance was not shabby either hitting 180x speed or 27MB/s!

You may not have heard of Super Talent Technology prior to this review and sadly, their Mega-Plus MP3 player is quite forgettable, despite its iPod nano-like appearance. Whether they own up to the fact or not, it's obvious that the physical design of the Mega-Plus was "inspired" by the first generation nano. The front face is a very glossy white, whereas the backside is a super shiny chrome. Also like the iPod, the headphone jack is at the bottom of the player rather than at the top.

Super Talent has rated the Exelerator family of drives to operate at 166X speeds with fast 25MB per second read speeds and sub-millisecond access times. Super Talent claims that the Exelerator drives are the perfect cost effective system upgrade to enhance a consumers Vista experience and that is exactly what we plan on looking at today here on Legit Reviews...

Super Talent has taken their classic enclosure for USB 2.0 flash memory and stuffed it with a 200x device. This means it should be one of the fastest memory sticks out there with more than 30 MB/s. These benchmark results together with the sturdy aluminum casing make this a rock solid choice.

Super Talent might not be the first memory brand that springs to mind; although they have a wide range of competitive products and we're taking a quick look here at what they're claiming is the world's fastest USB 2.0 memory key. It's always amusing when you get sent a product for review that claims world's fastest, since they rarely are. The Super Talent DH series of USB memory keys are "Ultra-fast 200x" and they have a claimed read speed of 30MB/s. We tested out the 4GB version but the DH series comes in sizes ranging from 512MB to 8GB.

A couple months back we took our first run at an enthusiast memory kit from Super Talent. The Super Talent T1000UX2G5 PC2-8000 2GB memory kit showed that the memory manufacturer has come a long way since expanding their focus from the OEM market to the consumer and enthusiast sectors. Joining the likes of Corsair, Crucial, OCZ, Mushkin, Kingston, and others, Super Talent has made a name for themselves by bringing to market memory kits known as much for their overall value as their impresssive performance.
