Hey

I've got a 52x24x52 TX Uranus CDRW, but I'm not sure where to get the firmware from. I know it's a rebadged lite-on, but I caren't going to risk flashing it with lite-on firmware. I've tried searching and come up with nuttin'.

Any suggestions?

Cheers

Tim

To all users who have tx CD-RW drives the firmware can obtained from the following link. http://www.txeurope.com/ini/drivers.asp
I hope this helps people without endless searching for the firmware.

At the aforementioned URL, you won't get firmware updates for the latest drive.

Try http://www.traxdata.fr/www/contact.php
then support, then firmware.

I would stay away from those Think Xtra (not Traxdata) firmwares. They're just poorly modified Lite-ON firmwares.

Hi Dave
If they are bad what are they doing on the Website Especially seeing though you are a Moderator over there but thanks for the Info Anyway LOL !!!

Also you say use the 6SG4 update from here: http://www.4kus.com.tw/download.htm
There isn't one it only has the 6SG5 !!!

The best place I have found after doing a lot of research is the one which djuls posted earlier which is the Original TX Uranus Version : VSG7 and it is the Latest !!!

This post is pretty old. 6SG4 was the newest at the time. And, like I said, Think Xtra is not the same company as Traxdata, most of the firmwares that come from Think Xtra are just modified Lite-ON firmwares. They're on The Firmware Page because they're firmwares, we post that they're just modified...

People can use any firmware that they want...

Hi,
Got an Uranus TX 522452,read somewhere it could burn a 700mo Cd in about 2 minutes, and even though I upgraded the firmware to 6SG4, it takes more than 10 mn to burn such a CD certified 48x with the uptodate Nero or Easycd creator,2 mn more than with my previous plextor 8x4x32.Of course with buffer underunprevention unchecked, disk at once checked. I wonder if it comes from my hard disk that is an IBM deskstar 120 Go 7200, cause I tried to burn files from a friend of mine Western Digital and it seemed to be faster. How can it be? My second question is I tried to upgrade from 6SG4 to 6SG5 and I got a message that it could not find the device to patch, even though I can see it on the list of those it detected.
Do I have to get it changed ?
Thanks for help.

Well I have tested mine since I upgraded thr Firmware and mine has no problems with either of your problems !!!
1> What media are you trying to run at 52x !!![?]
2> Would it do both of these operations before you Upgraded the Firmware !!![?]
3> If it did do them flash it back to the old Firmware and then try it !!!
