001H? Is that what came on the drive? 0012 is what is found on the BTC website. Can you backup 001H and share it?

This is the one everybody can get from their site. I went there today and updated from their file. The one that came with the drive is 000O.

Well... The one from the BTC website is not a backed up binary. It is a hex file... I think that you could handle mtkflash alright. It will not mess up your drive if you are only trying to backup your firmware. You can easily recover it in windows using MTK WinFlash too.

It messed up in the past... I had a BTC 4816IM that wast dead after some time playing with mtkflash and was impossible to recover... maybe I don't have the skill to put it again back on, but it's like I usually say... If you don't know what you are doing then don't do it.... Sorry. And what's the problem of the BTC's file? they have the app to update the drive... You can do it with their app...

Well, I just flashed my I/O Magic - BTC 52x24x52 to the latest (001H) firmware and now my drive doesn't work... Of course, being the absolue genius that I am, I did NOT back-up my old firmware and now I have a dead drive. Could someone PLEASE email me a copy of their earlier formware for this drive???

Thanks in advance..

Jason

UPDATE:: Well, forget about sending me a FW file, my computer won't even boot as long as the BTC is connected to ANY IDE cable including onboard and my Promise card.... Looks like I killed it..

I can't even got past post...meaning, when I first start my computer, it freezes even before I get the chance to go into my bios. Then it won't work until I clear my MB via jumper to reset default settings. Went through this 3 times in a row... Works fine as long as the BTC is not hooked-up....
