Now that most new games cannot fit on just one cd and they come on at least 2 cds, i was wondering if it's actually necessary to try and bypass copy protection on cds 2, 3, 4 or whatever, because they are only used for installation, and not for playing the actual game, whereas it is necessary to copy cd 1 because that is the one that gets checked when trying to play the game.
It would mean one hell of a saving on cdrs for me, as then i would only have to concentrate on the one cd. Thanks

If all you want is a copy of the play disc, so that you can play the game with a backup then all you should need to backup is that disc.

most of the time, I've only found copy protection on the playdisc, and not on the installation discs. You shouldn't need to worry about backing up the whole set, unless you do a lot of re-installations or sometimes you need to use the other discs if you only install the minimum requirements.
