if i am using DVD+RW can i set it to DVD-ROM and will this disc work in a drive that cant read DVD+RW???

reason i ask is my PS2 has problems reading DVD+RW's but i dont want to waste CD-R's or DVD-R's burning stuff!

Yes, exactly. However your burner must supports this feature. What is it btw?

You will not waste DVD+RW if you try it!
It is rewritable media so you can use it over & over again

I think if you flash your drive to Maddog's firmware 2F8 you can adjust the booktype for the +RW media.

Does 2.F8 supports RW bitsetting?

I thought that only 2.F9 can do so...

yeah i just dont want to flash my drive so much :)

i think ill wait until 2C9 comes out from TDK..

any ideas on when that will be?

2.C8 supports bitsetting for DVD+R/+R9 not DVD+RW
2.F9 supports bitsetting for DVD+R/+RW+/+R9

well i tried a DVD+RW with booktype of DVD-ROM and it didn't work in the PS2 :(

i used 2.F9 to burn with and Nero said book-type of DVD-ROM when i did info on media..

oh well - maybe DVD-RW will work!

I read over at CD Freaks that people were having problems with the 2.F9 firmware and bit setting their +RW (and maybe -RW) discs. You might want to head over there and see for yourself.
