My drive still have Firmware Version A300 on it. The newest one is A302 and I am thinking about upgrading to it. LG claims that you must connect the drive as master by it self, on the secondary IDE controller with no other device on the same IDE cable.

My drive is connected on the secondary IDE controller as master. But there is on the same controller and IDE cable an AOPEN 56X CD reader connected as slave. Is it still possible to flash or do I have to open my computer again and unplug the AOPEN 56X CD Reader?

Thanks!

Since your drive is set ae master I don't think you'll have problems. However it is not to difficult to remove the cable for a while from your Aopen.

As for the the new firmware it is highly recommented.

I have on the second IDE two drives: Lg GSA 4120B and Teac CD Writer. LG is as master and Teac is as slave and upgrading my LG of new firmware was succesfull every times without unconnecting my Teac.
