hello...can someone tell me if this firmware supports the media shown below at 16x? the site i bought this from said it burns at 16x with the 3500a 2.18 firmware, but it shows up at only 4x. i know liggy has some firmware that will push this up to 16x, but i was hoping to find some firmware that has a few media speed ups that i normally use on a regular basis and is considered good media as well as having this burn at what is says it should burn. thanks!

thanks for this info, but in my message i indicated that i've already tried this. what i'm looking for is some firmware that will support this media as well as some speed hacks for other good quality media. a little bit of the best of both worlds i guess. :) dee was working with me yesterday on a test version of version 2 beta 6 that pushed it to 12x for the time being. i sent him some images of transfer rate tests and quality tests and he seemed pleased with the results at 12x that in the next beta he will put it at 16x and see how it turns out there. thanks for the help!

hey quikee...do you know if anyone has a hacked version of this one yet or is it not out? i checked the dangerous brothers page and haven't seen a post there yet with bitsetting on that one. i'll probably just wait for your's or dee's updated beta to test the 16x on that media. i've flashed my drive so many times in the last few days i should probably give it a rest until i can test one of your's as from the last time i talked to ya over in the other forums you are both including it in your next beta. thanks guys! talk to ya all later.

Hi Friends, what's up!
I'm from Brazil, and here is too hard to find information about this DVD+R that turns on DVD-ROM.. well, I have now a NEC 3500A, and the informatin showing on Clone dvd is that the firmware is 2.16...
Ok, I want to know if I can put new hacking firmwares to improve features. Each firmware is an aditional acknowledge for my burner, or each is a substitute, and all the past firmwares go away?
Other question is, can I change directly from this original firmware 2.16, directly to v2.C8 SE TDK 1616n? So I could begin the tests of booktype setting now...
Thanks everyone for the help, I report for you the results of my tests after I got the required answers, and have all the tests done here.
THANKS AGAIN!! AND SORRY FOR THE POOR ENGLISH, I LEARN BY MYSELF...

You can use 2.28 which supports bitsetting for DVD+R/+R DL directly from your firmware to the 2.28

Quikee,

I tried to figure out this question on my own, but no joy.

What is the difference between your Quikee2.28_QV3ME and Quikee 2.FC_QV3ME firmware? I'm trying to decide which to try. I'm currently running 2C8 SE. I only burn DVD+R media and need bitsetting to play on my Panasonic DVD-RP62S DVD player.

Thanks for any replies!

I went with the Quikee 2.28_QV3ME. Works fine and bitsetting allows playing in any of my DVD players.

One thing I've never seen before is that Nero displays a message in it's burn status dialog saying that "booktype is automatically set to DVD-ROM" right before starting the burn. Max speed Nero gives an option for is 8x with 8x Memorex DVD+R media.
