might not be worth it but how about adding that selection to the first page of the forum.

I very much agree with you on this.

Since there is no official plan for adding this feature anytime now, I will do this myself. I do not promise when, but as soon as I have some free time from the other projects I am involved now.
I also think there should also be a date-time filter.

Please anyone post here any other related functionality you consider usefull.
I do not promise I will implement it all, but definetely I will give a try...

You can instead keep a browser instance always on and read individual threads/messages by shift-right clicking on each one of them with the mouse.

I agree with you, but this invloves some digging in the code I am not willing to do right now, given the fact that we will be upgrading the forum soon again, and i will have to do this all over again and again each time...

How easy would it be to decrease the time for it to automatically disappear? Maybe set it to something like .1 secs. Not sure if that would be possible or even easier.

We were all annoyed by this feature added in the latest release. In fact the author himself is not willing to offer any other alternative. I will see if it is possible to decrease the time.

setTimeout is set to 2500 msec, as i just saw. Is it worth decreasing it?

I believe so. 2500 msec is 2.5 sec. If it were decreased to, say, 1msec, it would be pretty much the same as disabling the function without going through all the trouble of extensively changing the code.

I tried reducing it and it seems to cause problems to some browsers.
The average wait time is actually 1250 msec, so I thing it does not worth farther pursuing any change.
