Is there, and if so which ones, software that lets me use DVD disk like cds? I don't want author DVD's, I just want to use the DVD's as regular data disk.

If you just want to author DVD Data discs, I would suggest Nero.

If I understand correctly you want a DVD burning application, aren't you? I also suggest Nero.

Thanks. I just want to use the DVD disk for data. I'd much rather use 4.7 gig than 650mb. The cost of DVD's is coming down, especially on the 2x and 4x disks. So it really makes a huge difference in number of disk.

I went to do so, EZCD 5, and of course DVD isn't supported. I use TMPG and Studio 9. I don't want another video editting package. I just want to use the DVD disk as data.

You can use " Roxio Easy DVD copy " or "CopyToDVD" included in Blindwrite Suite! Very easy to use

One more program tha it promises many in the future is "ONES" i work with it last days and is very interest!

Neither, Roxio Easy DVD copy or CopyToDVD will work for his purposes as he is trying to author a DVD, those are used for making backups only. As for Ones, I'm not sure, but it looks like it might work, if you can work around the French.

I suggest nero as well.

That is correct. When I use the term "author a DVD" it makes me think of the video dvd. Which is what I am NOT trying to do. I just want to use the DVD extra storage space to store data like a regular cd. I have NTI Backup NOW for backing up to DVD.

I use TMPG to make video DVD's or what I'd call authoring DVD's.
I use NTI BACKUP Now for backing up to DVD.

I want to also use the increase storage of DVD's to my advantage.

I'll look at Nero. I can update to EZCD 7 for a small amount since I own EZCD 5. But I can't tell if it will do this either. Part of the problem is the lingo. The terms are a bit ambigious.
