Hello all,

I'm in serious grief here. I'm an avid fan of Nero Burning Rom and have been using the 5.5 version for some time now. It's been working great until just recently - I am constantly left frozen at the WRITING CD dialog box when it is "CHECKING DISCS". I compile a new cd / vcd and when I get to this step I hear/see the cd-r access but it will not get past this "CHECKING DISCS" stage. Here's my info:

O/S WIN XP PRO - Service Pack 1 installed - all updates installed
AMD Duron 900 w/ 640 megs of ram
Mitsumi CD-4802 internal 4 x 2 x 8
NERO 5.5

I've just installed the XP S/P 1 within this week, also had NORTON SYSTEM WORKS 2003 installed - but have uninstalled to try to resolve this issue. Struggled with the new ASPI drivers - Succesfully (I hope) and tried updating to latest NERo to no success so I rolled back to the 'tried and true' version I used to. Disabled UDMA mode for the channel my CDR is on - to no avail.

I am getting nuts over this - any one have any help?> I'd sure appreciate.
