When I use DVDInfoPro or DVDIdentifier with my TDK 420n it does not read the manufacturer code so I can't tell who the disk is made by. I contacted TDK support but they say the drive should read the media ID correctly so it is a 3rd party software issue.

Is there anyone who has this drive and can read the media ID of a blank DVD+r and be able to tell who manufacturered the media?

Help on this would be appreciated. I have purchased blank media (BenQ and Memorex) and I am trying to decide which to keep. I've read on other forums the BenQ is made by Sony but the Memorex can be CMC, Ritek or Prodisc (something like that). It would be nice if I could see for myself who actually makes them.

TDK 420n flashed to 1.3A firmware. Maybe someone who has this drive could tell me if this is the best firmware to use?

BTW I have read quite a bit and I did a search for my drive to see if there was any info that could help, to no avail. Just want to let you know that I have tried somethings on my own.

Thanks,

Mugsy

I have some Memorex, Maxell and BenQ media. When I put a blank disc in and read if with DVDInfoPro it won't tell me the manufacturer.

I have tried to put a print screen of DVDInfoPro. I hope it works. Doesn't show who makes the DVD.

I hope you can understand what I'm trying to say! In other forums people post print screens where it shows the manufacturer and more.
