Test doesn't look bad at all with BS41 firmware! I can't wait to get the BS42 and see how much more it's improved!

Looks like LiteOn is getting better, with BS41 firmware on the 1633. This scan was done on Verbatim 16X media. The burn was done at full speed, and the read for this was at 8X, probably would have looked better at 4x, but this is great!

They have been for sale at best buy here in canada for a very long time Ive gone through a couple spindles. $40 for 25 discs

Hi,

I am new to this all, having just bought and installed a Benq 1640 last week.......however I have also bought some Verbatim DVD+R (4.7GB) however when I try to burn to them with Nero 6 (which came with the drive) I only get an option to burn upto 4.45GB.

I updated the firmware to BSMB - not sure if that would make a difference?

its fine .. 4.7 isnt actually 4.7 but more like 4.5 or 4.45 ... 4.3 ...
dont know how to explain that .. its kinda like how 1MB is 1024kb .. I think ..
