Cool... Not sure if it is worth going from 48x to 52x but I might play with this............

I just upgraded my LTR-48246S to LTR-52246S and it worked fine. I flashed it using the 6S02 bin file and mtkflash then reflashed it to the newest S607 firmware using the windows flasher.
Works great!

Just curious... are LTR 48246S and LTR 52246S the same drive or not?

What are you talking about? Oh yeah, the Lite-ON firmware modified to contain the Sony ID. Hmmm, didn't you have a preview CRX220 a while ago? Where's the firmware from that unit?

I just flashed my LTR-48126S with S607 for LTR-52246S cause i wanted to test if the 24x RW speed would work on this baby, but as u probly know it doesnt, i can only ReWrite @ 16x...
I tested the 16x RW with the media that came with my drive and the burned disk was harly readable (lots of errors), so i wonder if my drive can RW @ 16x speed with Mitsubishi CD-RWs?

Hi Wobly:

Why did you find it necessary to use mtkflash (in DOS) for the upgrade? Wouldn't it have worked by simply executing the S607 file (in Windows) from Liteon?

I just got a Buslink 48x12x48 CD Burner. In the BIOS and in the Device Manager it says that it is the Liteon 48246S. I want to overclock it but, I want to be 100% sure that it is the right drive.
Does anyone know how to tell or does anyone know how accurate the BIOS and Device Manager tell what CD burner it is?

100% Unless it is using modified firmware.
