Are there any portable MP3 DVD players available or planned? Note I am not talking about a portable DVD movie player that can read MP3 DVDs. I want a walkman-like MP3 DVD player. Currently I use a CD MP3 player, but I listen to alot of music and need more space. TIA

Hmm, don't know of such device, maybe companies have already announched such players

You'd think with the prices of DVD burners and media dropping so fast, there is a huge biz opp with a DVD MP3 player. CDs are starting to be what floppies were when CDR media became affordable.

i got what you want men... but it will cost you a little:

A friend of mine gave it to me as a gift, but i think you can find it for about 220$.

It even links with USB2.0... and you can set it up as external CDRW/DVD combo as well...

I am really amazed...

Yeah I was thinking about buying that. But its too big and shaped pretty odd. I don't think its selling too well cuz I have seen it on sale for a low price. One thing that is lame about the unit is that it requires a PC to play DVDs, IOW you can't hook it up to TV to play movies. Sony mentioned that a future version could have that capability.

Seems rather overpriced. For that kind of money one could get a cheap portable DVD player with a small LCD screen. I believe some of them have mp3 capability as well. Not quite "ipod" portable, but still portable.

Are you looking for some walkman which can let you store more MP3 files, not only a DVD walkman?

I am thinking that will a walkman with HDD inside satisfy your needs?

There are some models with HDD inside. Some of the model can even play MPEG4 movie (and of course has a small-size LCD build-in).

The price for that model (PV-330 with 20GB HDD inside) is NT$15,900, which is about US$465

Will you think the price is cheap enough compare to its specs?
