I've recently noted the same irritating "feature" and deleting cookies does not solve the problem for me either. Hopefully this can be solved soon...

I think the problem should already be fixed.

I am using Firefox browser, 1st time launching browser then login to forum with Save Cookie being checked, and then close all browser and launch again. Then connecting to the forum, it appeared that I have login already.

Yeah... should be fixed, but it's not. Using IE here and effect is otherwise same, but I don't have to close browser windows after manual login & save cookie. I can close login window and either refresh (or push "Go" button) main window or use link (I.E. from Favorites) to forum main page. After that I seem to be logged in.

Funny thing: With or without saved cookies from previous visit I have to manually login. It's qute irritating - Like having computer (with all the neccessary software) and still forced to use "paper and pencil HiTech trick" for everything?

Please anyone having the cookie/auto login problem read this:

Please try appending a / at the forum url when first loging in into our forum.

That is, use:

http://www.cdrinfo.com/forum/

not:

http://www.cdrinfo.com/forum

Please anyone having this issue resolved because of this "manouver" reposrt back here in order us to replace existing internal site navigation links.

Thank you all both for your patience and help you have been providing us in order to have this annoying issue disappear...

I hope we will be able to find a solution before upgrading our forum to net alltogether.
Please stay tuned...

No workie here, either.
Never had to add / to end of address, as it's already been there.

Oh... one thing: I'm using PopUpCop and I cleared the cache of it, while writing reply here. Allthought *.cdrinfo.com is on exeption list and it's cookie never got deleted, I immediately appeared as not logged in! Needless to say, I had to start the reply again.

BTW, somehow cookie is named weirdly, if compared with cookies from other forums.

Unfortunately, there is no solution for this problem. Other than downgrading our software.
I think we are not willing to do this, as we will lose other usefull features.

There is a .net version coming out. This will be compatible with the advanced server configuration we have implemented now.

I propose a vote on the seriousness of this problem. Let's see how our readers feel about this...

Can you please elaborate on your statement?

Which precisely features of this s/w are missing from the current implementation of this forum?
I am really very interested in this type of conversation, as myself are not very educated on this subject (other forum features).

We have implemented the site in .net because we feel otherwise we would not be able to offer advanced features like drive comparisons, instant f/w location, c1-c2/pi-po media comparisons and many new exchiting features that are to come soon.
These are unique over the net and would require a trmendous amount of manpower to be implemented had we not followed this approach...

So, any user feedback on these issues is welcome...

I bet you can't come up with a vote selection with that kind of language which is needed to accurately describe how I feel about this kind of PITA.

Seriously... excuse my language, but nicest thing I can say about this login annoyance is that it makes me feeling like sitting on the hedgehog which is running around like raped ape.
