I think there are few utils that fix the DNAS problem, anyone has more info about this?

OK I am a noob I admit it from the start. Ive searched through the different posts looking for similiar scenarios but im clarifying my situation. I have the Network adaptor for the PS2 and The standard Sony HDD that came with FFXI (40GB). I also have a Dell Ispiron 8600 laptop maxed out pretty much. I was wondering how I could possibly hook up my PS2 hard-drive to my laptop. Would I be able to put my hdd in a harddrive enclosure device and connect my pc to it via usb? If so what kind of harddrive enclosure should i get....and what else would be needed in the process... I already have HDL Dumb and WinHIIP, I just want to know if there is a way to hook my current stuff up, or if I am going to have to do anything differently.

Any help would be greatly Appreciated,

red28516 welcome to our forums, i imagine any USB/firewire case will do at your case, if any other member has alternative or specific suggestions, please help out

Hello everyone. I have read this entire thread upon ordering my HD loader and such and I want to say this is the most informative thread I have found out there yet. Thanks for wrapping up all the questons I had.

In respoce to Red28516 about the external issue.

I am a computer technitian for Best Buy and we took apart a USB Hard drive enclosure so we could use the card in it to easily hook up IDE hard drives via USB. Now I know you can buy these devices online in various places and they should work fine with the Laptop. My cousin built his own with parts at radioshack.

So any hard drive IDE-USB converter of some sort will work fine!

I just bought myself a Maxtor 120 GB IDE 7200 RPM 2MB )

and it works ... but not completely ( can you please help me out in that modus **** :( )

( I'm close creating a 7cd-rip multi DVD PS2 game :p well It almost works :p )

2.) If I already have image files (ISO .. ex) of my PS2 games already on my PC... could I simply install them to my PS2 harddrive..? ... if so wat program would I use?

1) you MUST buy a sony netwerk adapter

2) You can use HDL_dump ( read this wholoe forum for a link the admin has posted it some were but I can't remember )

sorry again but i really need to know just to make sure do u need a chip cuase i bought a hd im gonna buy the hdloader. and finally if i move a game on my ps2 hd will i be able to move it back to my pc hd thanks

this is for RayLighting, and any others out there having a problem with loading SA the the first few times...
i dont know if this will work for u but it did/does for me. here we go:
1. have the game in ps2 and have it on the loading screen or whereever it says the format is wrong
2.hold down the blue (eject) button then pretty much stright after that (keep blue held down) and then hold down the green (reset) buton. which should turn off the ps2.
3. Straight after that, turn the ps2 back on.

i hope this helped, as i said it works for me and my DUO2 on a Datastream DVD+R. so dont complain if it doesnt work for u

I am considering purchasing the PS2HD and the HDloader program to speed up my games on the PS2. Does this work with all types of PS2 or just the recent ones that can read Rewritables, etc?

soz , didnt realise this was a HD LOADER forum topic....
well that method, was how 2 get the game to play off the disk (dvd+r) for me.
i aint gota hdd for the ps2 or the program.
tho i am gun get one soon

Hi there,

Is there like a step by step guide or somethin to tell u how to set up a hard drive and all this stuff? I've tried to follow all the posts but either i'm way too tired or just not really concentrating. Does the hard drive just get plugged into ur pc and then link the pc to ur ps2 via ethernet cable? Or am i just missing the point. I'm in australia and the ps2 hdd that comes with ffxi isnt even released here yet. Hasnt really been advertised here either.
