So, code65536, since you know so much about firmwares and flashing and I am completely new to it. Do you think you could direct me to a tutorial on how you scramble a stock 832 firmware and get it to work with my 812S? I don't want to break my DVD-RW drive, as I don't want to leave room for experimentation. :)

I need an in-depth tutorial on how to scramble it, flash it, and how to use a failsafe as well so if I make any mistakes I can recover my drive.

Thank you for your diligence,

-cdbsi

Yes you can also use the search function of this forum to see how you can make a 812S->832S, it has been discussed many times

Just try it, if you don't like it you can always flash back. TRUST me it works, I'm a satisfied customer!

Hi i'm a N00b here and i don't know how to get this to work:

I have the SOHW-812S and i upgraded the firmware to an 832S using the cross-flashing enabled with the omnipatcher.

i have perchased two Verbatim DVD+R DL disks.
when i insert one of the disks into the now SOHW-832S drive, all it does is take a long time to read it and when it does then a little popup asks me what i want to do and lables it as a blank cd.
when i later try using Record Now DX to copy a dvd it just doesn't register that there is a disk in the drive.

i am completly new to this and i'm not sure if its something to do with the firmware on my computer or the software i am using. so i wasn't quite sure where to post this, if this is in the wrong topic then my bad but i could really use some help.

Cheers.
CS

Are you sure Record Now DX supports DL media? Why you won't try CopyToDVD that works 100% ok?
