Hello, what happens if I burned a dvd video image wich was not complete (only 99,5% dowloaded)? I lose only some end titles or the movie is not going to work on stand alone players? On my pc, it seems to work...

thanks!

Probably I didn't explained well: I had this image on my HD wich was not complete (99,5%). I burned it on a dvd video, and it works on my pc (it only has titles at the end cut). Is it going to work in a stand alone player?
I don't think it is illegal, it's not a commercial movie, it's a documentary done by a friend of a friend of mine.

I've found that standalone players tend to play DVDs better than my PC. ie, I once had a random shutdown during a burn, the resulting disc wouldn't even register as a DVD on my PC, but it would play on a standalone (up to the point it stopped burning obviously).

If it truly is a video from a friend, have him give you the whole thing.

If you got the ifo files ripped as well, it will play in a standalone player... however, some dvd players (like some sony and lg branded i think) can't play this kind of disc, because they get an error in the ifo file... In this case, you can rip the vob files, and recreate the ifo files with ifoedit prog...

Gotcha, well give it a try first, DVD-r's don't cost too much anymore. If it works, it works. If not, ask him for a new copy. I'm betting that it will work though.
