I've recently purchased a plextor cdrw px-w2310a its a 24/10/40. I have have medal of honor which I have been attempting to make a playable copy of.

I followed the instructions with clony and it burned fine (after about 4 coasters figuring out the correct settings prior.)

The one copy that worked using clonecd 3.3.4.1
4x read
read retry 3
error correction none
fast error skipped

I install using the copy and it installs fine as well...then we get to the issue...I attempt to run from the cd and it asks me to "please eject and re-insert the CD-ROM..." This was using the same plextor I burned and installed with.

The only hint I can offer is I'm not sure if the one good copy I made had "close session" checked. I'm assuming this could be part of the issue. But assuming it was checked...are there any other suggestions?

Plextor 24x cannot do SD2 v2.51. Use latest CloneCD v4.xx series with Amplify Weak Sectors (also enabled HIDE CDR MEDIA option from the CloneCD tray).

Well well well...it worked great. I can now install and play MoH:AA (with hide cdr media) Of course there are some in-game issues I need to hammer out, but that's not for this forum. =)

I am having trouble backing up my copy of MOHAA. I can make a copy but when I try launching the game it tells me to eject and reinsert the CD. As for the Hide CDR Media and Amplify weak sectors, those options don't show up for me. The Hide CDR Media thing is faded. Any help?

Clints right, I had to change mine Regional settings to Canada. Then install CloneCD!

Hi everybody :)

I tried to make a backup copy of MOH:AA
Hardware:
CD-RW Teac CD-W58E (8x8x32x)1.0A; does not support SafeDisc v2 nor 2.51, I know :(
CD-ROM LG CRD40x
I used CloneCD v3.3.4.1
Read parameters:
speed 4x, fast error skip(0 retries),error correction-software
Write parameters:
speed 4x,amplify weak sectors, always close last session(by default)
I used 2 CDR Verbatim 700MB Metal Azo 16xmax
The game installs fine, but:
if the copy is in the CD-ROM, or CD-RW- without the option:Hide CDR Media'
I get:
"please eject and re-insert the CD-ROM...";
when the copy is in the CDRW, and "hide CDR Media" is on:
"MOHAA- has performed an illegal operation..."
What's wrong?
I also tried BlindWrite v4, which has a new option amplify weak
sectors- still unsuccesful :((

Yeah, I've got the same problem as the guy above ^
I don't even know what CD stuff I'm using, but I've neve had problems with any copy protection except safedisk 2.5+
I've backe dup all my games except MOHAA and it's getting annoying now.

Well, I couldn't find out here in the forum why CloneCD v3.3.4.1 isn't good enough to copy MOH:AA . So I installed CCD v4.0.0.1 and
then it was nope to create the copy :)) Yet whenever I want to use it,I have to place it in the CDRW, and of course I have to set the option "hide CDR Media" on. Unfortunately my CDROM drive is unable to read it.
I suspect it's simply because the new version of CloneCD can handle properly with all those f*** "weak" sectors that were introduced in SD 2.51

Yes you are right Version 3 of Clone CD will not do Safedisc 2.5 but Version 4.0.0.1 and above will do it with most CDR Drives with AWS & Hide Cdr Media enabled and some copies will only run correctly in the Writers they are made in.

I have a Philips PCRW804. I have tried to backup MOHAA 3 times now and I havnt made a working version yet. I can install off the copy but when I try to play i get the please reinsert cd crap. I used ClonyXXL and Clone cd v4.whatever and I still cant. Is my Philips not capable of copying it?? Thanks!!!

The phillips pcrw804 will not write The correct EFM encoding perfect it will do it almost perfectly. check clone's site. I pulled the recorder and went for the LITEON 40125S. you must have 2 sheeps heads now............ http://elby.ch/english/products/clone_cd/writers/p.html#PHILIPS
