I have a batch of 90min/870MB CD-R's and I have a Plextor CD-RW 24/20/40A.
I tried burning about 87min of music and tried data (850MB) as well, separatley with no luck.
I did changed the threshold in Nero to allow that much in preferences and I also have 1.03 firmaware on the PLEX.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Yeah, I also just bought some 16x 90min 790mb discs for use in a Liteon-24102B and it was able to overburn a 729,968,640 bit data file but not a 739mb file. This site rated the Liteon up to 99min overburing so I don't understand what is wrong either. I used Nero 5.5.8.0. I also noticed that my media wasn't recognized as larger than the average 80min cd. When i burn nero says there isn't enough space.
--Just thought id add some info to apparently the same problem.

Nero does support it, and both recorders should too, as long as you have their latest firmware.

Be sure you are using the below settings, depending on the size if media you are using. And be sure you are writing in DAO mode.

To Enable OverBurnning for Nero:

You must enable overburning in Nero's File>Preferences>Expert Feature

and set too:

for 80min media set to - 82:00
for 90min media set to - 89:30
for 99min media set to - 99:54:74

Craig

The CDs aren't recognized because VERY FEW hardware (DVD Players, CD Players, PC CDROMs...) do not recognize burnt discs above 80min. But due to some some basic testings, I found out that all these hardware will play discs burnt under 90:00 perfectly fine...

BTW, I have a LiteOn 24X. But I believe the same goes for any CDR that burns discs abover 80:00.
