Steps:
1) Download firmware v1.06 for LG-8080B and the original firmware v1.06 for LG-8083B in case you need to go the drive back!
2) Get any HEX Editor ,load the firmware v1.60 for LG-8080B, and search for the sequence "GLC -DWRC DE8-80B0" which must be replaced with "GLC -DWRC DE8-80B3". Do the same procedure for "CD-RW CED-8080B" which must be modified to "CD-RW CED-8083B"
3) Save changes and flash the drive with modified firmware
4) Reboot
5) Enjoy your new LG-8080B (8x) CDR-W drive

I understand the steps, but I do not know how to use the hex editor to change the numbers. Can someone please see if they can find these numbers with a hex editor that need to be changed.
