I'm not sure if this is a general hardware issue, but more of a general PC issue, but oh well. Recently my text documents have had black backrounds out of nowhere, they use to just show what was behind them. I can't explain this very and my picture is too large. So try your best to understand me and my noobness.

Try updating your video drivers... what are you using to view your text documents?
