Hi everyone,
I recently tried to backup my LOTR-ROTK cds using discjuggler (for image creation and image burning) and a ricoh mp7080A cd-recorder. Unfortunately, the backups did not work (installation couldn't finish). So, I downloaded daemon tools and clone cd (heavy artillery-latest releases both!!!) and managed to make working images of the game (I tried the images using daemon tools and they worked fine!!!!!)Unfortunately (again!!!), after I burned the images using clone cd, the backups did not work again. So, I decided to copy the images as simple data files in a cd and to copy-paste them to my hd everytime I want to install a game. Since the computer can read the image of the game (using daemon tools), what's the bother to try to create a 1:1 copy of the game... i haven't yet copied the image files, as normal data files, to cds, but I don't think there will be any problems.
What do you think of it? Can't this method work in most of the games running under strong protections like safedisc, securom etc?
I NEED YOUR OPINION ON THIS

Hi again,
Yes, although I haven't yet used alcohol, I think that it's going to be suitable for copying safedisc v.3 protected games. Still, you did not tell me what you think about my idea of just copying the working image files to a cd as normal data files and just copy-paste them to our hd whenever we like to install the game? Wouldn't that be simpler than just trying to create a 1:1 copy of the game?

No that would not work as most Protected games add references in the Registry !!!

Could you do this:

Make images of your games and locate them on a file server. Install and play the games from those images on the server? Can this be done and how.
