Welcome!

I don't want to disappoint you but if the great protections of large companies of movie intustry are a toy for simple utilities how can you protect your own DVD?

Hey mate .. first thanx for taking the time to reply me

second, I am surely aware of that, but lets assume NOBODY knows how to use these utilities at all.
they are not pc experts , they are normal users , surfing , playing games and watching vcd movies ...

and btw, what are these utilities ?

Yes,

I mean DVDShrink, DVD Fab Decrypter, DVD Decrypter any many other utilities which can bypass any kind of protection just like this. Hollywood people worry about those utilities but there's nothing they can do. They stop DVD Decrypter but DVD Fab Decrypter was released...hehe

Those utilities are very simple to use and even amateur users can do it.

I am just telling you my opinion because I think it is waste of time trying to do this. That's why I mentioned that if the Big ones cannot protect their discs how can we do?

well thanx again ..

and again I ask U to completely ignore these utilities , in other words assume that the people who will get the video that I made are totally newbs , they know nothing about protection at all , neither the utilities to break this protection ...

What is to be done then to protect the video  ?

__________

On the margin , can u please name me a software for ripping dvds ? I have a 13-chapters dvd , and I want to rip it to avi or mpeg files so I get 13 clips , same number as the chapters on the dvd ... I have axes to every software , just name them :D

Even CSS as used on comercial movies could be what you are looking for, but these discs need to be pressed as CSS cannot be written by *any* burner... Comercially pressed = $$$

Content Scrambling System

As you can see something rediculous like $15k USD annual fee etc... And, as stated above, a mere 1MB application is all that is needed to overwhelm this protection scheme.

Also Macrovision could be used simultaneously, to prevent analogue copies to VHS etc...

For ripping DVDs you'll need DVD Fab Decrypter. To encode them to AVI there are many utilities, which one is the best I don't know. I use FlaskMPEG.

There's also PuppetLock and Settec's (LG Electronics) AlphaDVD, which could be considered more robust than CSS; however *NOTE* AlphaDVD has been proven to contain *rootkit malware*, leaving Windows OS's vulnerable to intrusion/attacks/viruses etc... BEWARE!

You mean convert it to Windows Media Video? Then you suffer from lack of playback equipment in standalone players...

You got four 1GB files either because your HDD is Fat32 which doesn't like/use files bigger than 1GB, or you have a setting in your ripper to split the files to 1GB, I suspect Fat32. You can't rip by chapters, because the DVD is not made that way. Each chapter is not it's own file, but rather is just a little flag in the datastream telling your player/comp where there's a chapter break. If you want 13 files, you'll need to cut it into 13 files. You can use DVDShrink to do this.
