Does anybody know if the new 32x writer from yamaha supports efm modulation or not, and what about 32x writers from other companies ?

I supose all the drives should use the efm modulation in order to maintain the data. The question is whether Yamaha will use eight to fourteen modulation or another one, with possibly better capacity results

No it doesn't...The produced backup however will work at the same drive

Depends on the CD your copying. Most software now on CD's checks the ATIP. Seeing that CDRW drives will always report the ATIP if the software on the CD finds it the software knows it is copied and will not work. As CD-ROMS do not report the ATIP then the software will never know it is on a CDR or CDRW disc and thus will work.

There's an Windows XP update for CD-writing support in Windows Explorer, you can go to the web site for Windows Update, and your problem should be solved.

For a more stable/advanced CD writing experience I recomend you use CD Mate
