I originally have a DVD-CDRW Drive with LG GCC-4243N firmware on my HP-Compaq nx9030 laptop. It supports 4x speed DVD+R/RW read/write. Browsing to some other forums I came across one message saying his drive was previously DVD+R and after installing the update it added support to DVD-R with increased write speed up to 8x. I became curious on the 8x speed enhancement, I thought it will also add DVD-R write support. I download the firmware installation file which came from HP website itself. The bug and fixes report says it added support up to 8x write speed. On the installation readme file, it says the supported product types are HP-Compaq Business Notebook Series nx7000, nx9000 and nx9100. Mine was model nx9030, so I thought my drive will be supported as well. The upgrade installation went on succesful. After the upgrade, I saw on the device manager the model of my drive was changed to Toshiba ODD-SDD SD-R6252. After the firmware upgrade I can't any longer record on any blank CD's or DVD+R's. The drive is working fine on reading only, but not writing. It cannot recognized or format any blank CD or DVD+R. I would like to revert back my drive to its original GCC-4243N firmware. I would like to try to use MTKWinFlash or MTKFlash, LtnFlash, or LtnFW but I cannot find anywhere the .bin file for GCC-4342N. The installation file for GCC-4243N Can anyone please advise me where can I find the binary firmware file for GCC-4342N for my notebook? I spent the whole week searching the file on the web but I can't find the right resource. Can anyone out there be so kind enough to help me out?
