It is questionable if anything YOU can write, would pose much problem to software such as CloneCD, Alcohol or Blindwritesuite - or even, in some cases, some writers with very little software assistance. If you're looking at a small run / high value situation, then individually customizing each CD with a "Licenced to" may discourage illicit use, as the person responsible for allowing it to be copied would be marked out. Only other thought is to go for an authentication route - doesn't need to be as deep as Microsoft, but deriving a challenge key from elements of the system - and delivering a validating key with a formula which would be difficult to reverse-engineer may be possible.
