Copy Lord -> Sony ARccOS Protected Titles (1/3/2005 4:36:32 PM)

Does such a list exist?

I would love to know what titles (new/old etc) other than the new RE Movie & Little Black Book have this protection.

I know this protection can supposedly be defeated with the new AnyDVD Beta that was just released. I'd still like to know what other titles are using it.

Thanks!

Me too.[:)]

Can DVD Decrypter bypass it?

MP3Mogul -> RE: Sony ARccOS Protected Titles (1/3/2005 6:17:23 PM)

No, DVD Decrypter nor Shrink can bypass it.

A new title having this is "Resident Evil: Apocylapse"

However do a google search for "VOB Blanker 1.6.0.3" it's freeware and works like butter, all you have to do is shrink it afterwards if writing to a single layer.

AnyDVD released a Beta today 4.4.1.1 that will work as well.

I expect to see new releases of DVD Decrypter/Shrink soon that will work.

Official Changelog:

Added: Support for different/newer types of 'structure protection'
Added: Support for NEC (new style), Plextor and AOpen (use RICOH tab) Bitsetting
Added: Option to not display the dialog box about loading the MDS and not the ISO
Added: Support for running on multimonitor displays
Changed: Burn engine to relieve stress (caused by a fast executing 'While' loop) on the I/O subsystem when doing the 'Lead-In' stage of the burn
Changed: Window snapping so that it snaps on the middle of the screen and not just at the edges
Changed: 'SetWriteParameters' function to attempt to use the drive specified 'link size'. Also changed to hopefully fix some total failures in setting the parameters on certain drives
Changed: Write retries have been reintroduce (old default = 0, new = 20)
Changed: Drag + Drop code enabled / disabled at different times to help prevent some subclassing problems due to ThemeManager - could cause access violations on some PCs when the app is closed
Changed: Added another URL to the 'check for program update' code
Changed: Behaviour of 'Browse' dialog for ISO Write source files. It will now select the nearest folder to the one last selected
Changed: volume label change code to support split image where the backup volume descriptor is at the end of the disc
Fixed: A bug in the 'check for program update' code that could mean 1 failure causes all the retries to fail too
Fixed: UDF volume label changing code to recalculate descriptor CRC + checksum
Fixed: Major slow down on some 'structure protected' discs
Fixed: A problem with some DVDRAM discs, reading them to images and trying to change the volume label

OK, excellent.[:D]

jimr -> RE: Sony ARccOS Protected Titles (1/21/2005 8:10:45 PM)

Could this be the problem I was having, trying to backup " Forgotten "? It would get to the file ( I think it was ) VTS_03_2.VOB, and then give the drive fits trying to read that 1 file. I tried 2 different drives, same results.

Any help?

LIGHTNING UK -> RE: Sony ARccOS Protected Titles (1/23/2005 1:06:46 PM)

If you read the posts above, it says 3.5.2.0 handles these new discs.

From your log, I can see you're still on 3.5.1.0

Time to upgrade :)

Can anyone tell me if the 1 Click DVD copy software will get around the protection software one new movies being released? Or would you advise of better software?

While I have no personal experience with this particular software, I'd highly reccommend using DVD-Shrink in conjunction with AnyDVD. This is a known/proven method of working. Just make sure you have the latest versions.

MP3Mogul -> RE: Sony ARccOS Protected Titles (1/24/2005 3:57:58 PM)

I cannot get the latest decrypter to make a sucessful backup of the new protection, however, as "Xciwmff" stated above, AnyDVD with Shrink, makes 100 percent backups and it does it the quickest I have "EVER" seen!

Yes almost all DVD ripping software have improved their engine to overpass Sony ArccOS protection
