Destram -> Audio Tracks 8 - 18 not accessible (10/26/2004 7:46:54 PM)

Hi, I've been having some problems burning cds with my laptop. I've had this problem with Nero and Roxio. This started about a month ago and it is still happening.

When I burn an audio cd, and then try to play it in my home cd player, tracks 8 - 18 do not play. 1-7 and 19 on all play perfectly. If I try to play 8 - 18 the player just pauses like it's trying to find the song, then changes cds. I know it is not a problem with my cd player. Also, when I take the cds out and put them in my laptop, all of the song files play fine.

Any idea what could be causing this? Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would try some different media first.

Different media like .wav instead of .mp3 or something? I've already tried .wav, .wma, .ogg, etc and none of them are any different. Tracks 8 - 18 aren't readable on cd players.

Or did you mean like different types of discs?

Different brands of discs. If you had Princo for example get some Taiyo Yuden. Most common problems are based on media.

Thanks Iggy, I was thinking Media would explain it.... but not everyone would know what Media meant...

Format would mean .ogg, wma, mp3 etc.....

Great! Thanks guys, that worked. I should have thought to try that before but I've never had a problem with any discs I've used.

My only problem now is that I can burn CDs that are readable, but my burner will only burn them at 4x speed. When I try 24, 16, or 8 I always get write errors. Would that be a problem with the new discs I'm using as well?

No, THANKS IGGY! Sometimes I forget that not everyone knows or understands all the terminology! It's a good thing that you understood! [:D]
