I guess for those prices I may as well just buy 50 for the $30 and take the chance

Hey All,

I ordered 8x -r yesterday... should I have ordered +r?

Thanks, Casey

If you're in the US, the best place to get TY media is http://www.rima.com, bar none. $30 for 50 8x +Rs. Madness!!!

And if you buy 1,000pcs you can get them for $0.55 each....

Actually, it's $0.55 each if you buy 100 pieces, not 1,000. That's not a bad deal at all! I paid $75 for the same thing just a few weeks ago from them. For whatever it's worth, I've ordered several times from them and they always have shipped the same day and everything was handled very well. In fact I just ordered some TY CD-R's from them today, and an hour later got a shipping/tracking confirmation.

Ahh... I have a friend who ordered 1,000pcs, and got $0.55ea on them, so I figured that was the price break point. I have alternate sources, so I don't tend to buy any blank media retail anymore, and sometimes don't get all the facts on the current deals, since I have little to no personal experience with them.

Astro -> RE: Taiyo Yuden Media (10/10/2004 2:05:57 PM)

bsugar- If you want quality (writting) and compatibility you must rather compromise with that. Besides, the quality loss in a compressed movie is not that visible under normal conditions. So I would use a quality DVD5 disc instead of the 8-gig one

Almost forgot: If you really need those extras then things change in this case

WOW...I JUST GOT A SECOND STAR[:)][:D][:)][:D][;)]

NotesGooRoo -> RE: Taiyo Yuden Media (10/15/2004 2:10:54 AM)

I'll stick to Prodisc 8x DVD+R hub printables. $84 for 200 pieces

30+ burned so far in my 3500 and not one problem. The print quality is awesome too.
I can't wait for the 16x's to come out.

Hi, Bsugar

I don't know whether Tayo Yuden media are the best, but -at least- they seem to be very good[;)].
Recently I got some Gigatain-branded ones (Gigatain DVD+R 8x / Media ID: YUDEN000T02). With my LG GSA 4160B / Fw. A302 and Nero 6.6.0.1 I'm able to burn them at 12x and I haven't had any problems with them till now.
I bought them online at http://www.cdrohlinge24.de - 45€/100pcs.

Where are made these Gigatain?...., are they made in Japan?
I ask you because I read that they have fake ID.

emperor -> RE: Taiyo Yuden Media (11/14/2004 11:30:10 AM)

Probably fake ID...
