wazza -> HP writers and SDv2 (10/9/2001 8:29:29 AM)

Having read rob macdonald's post further down the forum I'm now confused.
I have HP 9300i writer - revision 1.0b I am trying to backup max payne using clone cd (version 2.8.5.2). But now I have made my 6th coaster i am getting a bit mad!!
I have downloaded the cdrinfo guide to clone cd and in this it recommends this writer! Although I notice that there is no mention of SDv2.
Is this writer capable of backing up SDv2?
Is it time for a new writer (i was thinking of a lite-on)

Please be gentle..I'm new to this

Thanks in advance.

Your drive cannot do SDv2. For that protection you need correct EFM encoding look at the clone cd site and see which drives can do it.
Plextor 24/10/40A
Lite On 12102B + 24102B
All old Philips drives
All Acer drives
SDv2 is a protection where for a writer with correct EFM encoding is needed.
