Hello chris here this is the first time i am here . i wanted to know .
how to put this drive into my Hp pc. do i need to buy the softwhere?
or is there a place to get it free download it ? pleas any info would be great even how to put it in my slef. i took it out of a pc a friend was gonna throw out . he cant find the disc. Chris NYC . you can email me at Metaldaze@rcn.com Thanks !!![:D]

Put the drive in and Windows will auto detect it and install the drive for you. Then all you need to do is download a free trial version of Alcohol 120, or CloneyCD. These will allow you to make backups of software that you own, provided your drive can handle to protection on the disc. Then I suggest you download a free trial of Nero to do your music, movies and Data backups.

yes . the 3 wires that i took off the old one . The power , the ribon type of thing and the other small clip ? my brother in law sed i might have to up date the driver ? is there some way we can talk ? may be get this cdr wright . i will give my phone number . i would be happy to call you . so you dont have t waist a call. i need to do this . i really thank you for the help . we will get this going.

Sounds like it may be a problem with the sound card or something. You say you hooked up the small sound plug to the CDR it should go to the sound card. What operating system are you using?

wondows 98. so the little pulg goes in to the sound card? Not the cdr drive?

the other end is on the sound card . i get sound in my pc just not from that drive? iam gonna open it back up and check if it fell out ?

got it working . but it seems to copy with a lot of skipping?

Slow the copy speed down and use good media.
