Athlon 64 3000+. I could reach 16x with my P3 450 and toshiba 1612...

Perhaps it's not liking your TY media. Have you tried Verbatim just to see? Or even DVD+R?

The same happens with TDK. I might try a firmware from TDBs' FunPack next week.

How should I flash TDBs' FunPack firmware? Using v166teg.exe gives a message saying that the firmware file is invalid.
