TrentRez -> DVD Info Pro and application/implementation ID (9/15/2004 9:09:57 PM)

Hi there guys :)

I was looking for a way to check with what application was a dvd burned with and i came up with DVD info pro.
As the pic shows it does show Nero as the program used for burning nuder implementation id. The problem is that this doesn work for all disks. Meaning it either only works for DVDs under udf system and not dvd video or something, i cant really find any pattern.

Can youhelp me with this?

Thanx :)

Heres a pic where i get no implementation id info on the disk. Does this depend on the software used to burn the disk or is it due to DVD Info Pro?

Arent we all? :p

So any ideas about this? I have found that this implementation id only works in UDF. I might be wrong - it might work with Nero only :p

the implemenation id works with several software. clonedvd, dvd shrink and dvd decryptor from what I have noticed.

Yep i know :)

Any input from you zebra or nicw would be appreciated. Does it work only in UDF?

It's very much a software/engine based issue. If an impl.ID is not generated by the software/burning engine that created the disc, it will not be shown. InfoPro uses generic routines to check such things. If the impl.ID is not there, it just wont find anything. I don't think infopro is the issue here. Will have to have a chat to Nic.....

Ok so its probably dependant on the burning software then? If you have any more info at any point i would appreciate the input zebra. Thanx

Ok bitsetting for single layer NEC in native firmware comes in next version V3.25. NEC have implemented this for the 3500 in some newer firmware, if they will do likewise for older models is unkown.

How is this related to this topic?

Anyway, since you did drop by nicw, would you be so kind as to share some info on the threads topic? :)
