My original PC804 quit recognizing blank CD's. I bought an identical used one. It reads regular CD's, but will not recognize the blank ones. I flashed it as suggested in this forum, but all that happened was that it started spinning up and reading CD's that had already been burned again.
I reinstalled the Adaptec software (from the 804 drive) and it worked fine doing the installation job. I put in a blank disk, however, and though it tries to spin it, it doesn't autostart the software like it should and from the software. The computer won't recognize the CDRW drive in order to start the burning proces.
What next[?] This is frustrating. It should work, but it doesn't and I need for it to work.
