the philips chipsets are very picky. woody has a link to the media list but he recommended fuji to me and i've had excellent luck with them. i was also pleasantly surprised to find that i could get them for $20 a 50-stack. i remember that verbatim was also on the list.
be sure to have the latest firmware because that is one way they update the list of cds that the drive will accept.
