Probably need more RAM and a faster SVGA card to get more FPS at the various games [8D]

Well the System ram i can only imagine DEFFINETLY needs a boost up to 1 gig! But for call of duty! I figured that a 5600 should be able to run it more than 30 FPS! And i still dont see why system ram helps out the game. I figured the Video card ram would be the first choice by the computer unless it ram outta ram!

upgrading both RAM and SVGA will boost FPS, i don't know which one will give the highest results with the lowest money, the RAM or the SVGA?

Would you mind telling which media you used, also what is the version number of Alcohol you used. This would help others make successful copies in the future. Thanks.

vbguru_12000 -> RE: Doom III CD backup guide (9/8/2004 12:43:43 AM)

I just recently had a chance to have a crack at a SD 3.20.020 (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban). While not quite the same protection as Doom III (SD 3.20.022), it is extremely similar. Either way, I hope this report helps someone make a backup of a SD 3.2 protected title.

I have two drives at my disposal, a Sony DRU-500A and a Lite-On LTR52327S. Unfortunately, I was unable to make a working backup using the Lite-On. However, the DRU-500A fared much better. Using these settings and media, you shouldn't have a problem making a successful backup:

In Alcohol 120% v1.9.2 (build 1705), select Safedisc 2/3. Use minimum read speed (in this case 1x). Same goes for writing, using Memorex 48x CD-R's.

Using this procedure should result in a disc that will play on the LTR, but not the Sony (which doesn't seem to make sense, but oh well). I hope this helps someone to make a successful backup as this should be applicable to Doom 3 as well! Any questions, feel free to ask.

I am new so this will probaly be wrong
I am trying to copy disc 1 w/alcohol 120 1.9.2 with your settings and I am having the errors you mentioned :
Disc read error at :994
and it has been running up to

Disc read error at: 7305
Disc read error at: 7325
Disc read error at: 7348
Disc read error at: 7368
and so on and on

I have been running for 1:11:12time so far
Planning on getting sum sleep..

vbguru_12000 -> RE: Doom III CD backup guide (9/15/2004 11:00:04 PM)

Disc read errors are normal and should be expected. Just let it run, it'll probably go up to about 10,000-11,000.

I have done everything in the post and still making coasters.
My burner is a mitshista in a toshiba laptop, could this be a problem?

Is this the only drive you have? If so, you might think about investing in a new one.

Could you give us model numbers for the drives used? This would greatly help others in making successful backups.
