R00KIE -> RE: Use backups in a Gamecube (11/13/2002 11:44:26 AM)

yeah! how do you back them up, and how will you fit a 12cm DVD into a gamecube? it uses (i'm not sure) 8cm 1GB media isn't it so?

homer2069 -> RE: Use backups in a Gamecube (11/13/2002 11:49:16 AM)

I have been told u can buy 8cm dvdr which do the trick fine!

Dolphinius_Rex -> RE: Use backups in a Gamecube (11/13/2002 11:35:51 PM)

yeah, 8cm DVD-R do the job fine....but how do you Rip the gamecube game? nobody has been able to pull it off yet? everytime somebody thinks they have it, it's all dummy data! [:(]

homer2069 -> RE: Use backups in a Gamecube (11/14/2002 2:34:22 PM)

so are the people at www.blade.cc telling lies? Or is there a way to get it to work? They do state backups will play once the gamecube has been modified, maybe i should email them and ask how to make a backup?

Homer

ps. be really great if it does work!

Dolphinius_Rex -> RE: Use backups in a Gamecube (11/14/2002 7:58:17 PM)

well, if he can tell people how to make the backups, I guarentee he'll sell a LOT more of those mod chips! I have a friend with a GameCube who would be VERY happy to have his originals safe and locked away (probably encased in cellophane!).

homer2069 -> RE: Use backups in a Gamecube (11/14/2002 8:07:29 PM)

I have emailed them, but had no response as yet

crash Override -> RE: Use backups in a Gamecube (12/13/2002 7:03:53 AM)

I do not own a gamecube (gay cube??) but have read up about this sort of thing:

The Gamecube spins the discs around anticlockwise and starts from the oppisite to a normal dvd player would (not sure if they start from outside or inside edge).

This would probably explain why you get no data if you read one and have no hope in making a copy with standard equipment, unless you re-wired your dvd writer to spin the other way???

Best buy a XBOX then...

Dolphinius_Rex -> RE: Use backups in a Gamecube (12/13/2002 8:02:43 AM)

good try crash over-ride [:)]
Unfortunatly, that rumour is false, and therefore does not explain the problem. Keep brainstorming though [:)]

a2002adam -> RE: Use backups in a Gamecube (2/25/2003 4:59:27 PM)

gamecube games dont spin anticlockwise.

a2002adam -> RE: Use backups in a Gamecube (2/25/2003 5:03:35 PM)

If any of you bothered to look, they say that they have made a dvd drive that attaches externally to the gamecube and reads the dvd disks with the games on like that

Dolphinius_Rex -> RE: Use backups in a Gamecube (2/25/2003 9:48:53 PM)

I've just e-mailed blade.cc in the hopes of learning their "secret" I'll post more info here when/if I get a reply.

Malice -> RE: Use backups in a Gamecube (8/1/2003 9:43:17 AM)

What ever happened to this? is this even at all possible?

Dolphinius_Rex -> RE: Use backups in a Gamecube (8/1/2003 10:44:21 AM)

Well, I never got a response, so I never had an update to post [xx(]

Is it possible? probably yes, in *SOME* manner at least.

Has it been done? I don't think so

Will it be done? Eventually, I'm fairly confident.
