lance_arnold -> backing up ps2 game (6/30/2004 1:08:38 PM)

I am new to this forum, so hello everyone.

I want to back up one of my games, but i am having a couple of problems. i am using alcohol 120% and i have created a .mdf and .mds file which is 848Mb. I have a LG dual layer dvd writer. I click on the burning wizard and then select my dvd writer. i want to back up to a dvd, but the speed settings only allow max and 40 speed. i have gone to disc type "Playstation 2" and reduced max to 2x and selected it in the burning wizard.

When I click on start it says put in a empty disc in the recorder, and i put in my empty Verbatim dvd-r disc. It picks up the empty disc but will not start. i'm sure its something in the settings, but i don't know what.

Your help would be greatly appreciated.
Lance

Well, well.

If you can do that, try inserting a CD-R, not DVD_R as obviously going by those settings it is a PS2 CD-ROM. Just look for the CD or DVD logo on the back cover to easily determine the media the game is on.. However, most complex games these days are stored on DVD-ROM, since it offers 7x the capacity of CD.
