Hi all,

Myself and the Author of DVDINFOPRO, NicW would like to say thankyou for the invite to CDRInfo. It is hoped that CDRInfo can be the new home of DVDINFOPRO discussion in conjunction with Nic's home forum - www.dvdrrw.org

Some background information

For those that are not familiar with DVDInfoPro - www.dvdinfopro.com will give you a quick lesson on its capabilities. The software was created by NicW, - basically a tool for DVD authoring enthusiasts and Industry analysts alike. We like to think of it, as the 'all in one solution' short of having CATS based equipment in the home...^_^

As for me, well...I am Zebra. Some people know of me already. My home forums can be found dotted about the world. I currently moderate www.dvdrrw.org, www.atomicmpc.com.au and www.speedlabs.org. I look forward to seeing you there for any Z-specific questions you might have.

DVDINFOPRO 3.0

The intention is for InfoPro3.0 to be released to the world quite soon, with some stunning new capabilities. We hope to keep our friends here at CDRInfo well informed and maintain an information post on progress/requesting people for beta etc.

Ok. This has been an introductory post. Once again - thanks for the invite guys. Its nice to be here.

Maybe we should add different threads when a newer build comes out?

Always good to see some new talent here on CDRinfo

Now Nic, you need to fix DVDInfo 3 Beta, so that it will recognise my Sony DRU-700A(Liteon 832S clone) drive, and let me perform some PI/PIF scans.

Today would be nice pennance. [8D]

From memory I have done nothing that would detect only Liteon, I use a standard
vendor unique command to detect if the function is working.

Do we know the Sony drive contains the pi / po stuff??

It would make it easier if I had a drive. Or if someone can supply me the info to convert one of my many liteons to a sony for testing purposes. I will have a look and see what I can do. Send me the exact drive id for the drive I will add it in specifically and you can test it to see if it works. MSN me on this.

SONY DRU700A its a LITEON 832S drive so supports PI/PIF (not PO[;)]) error reporting...

The process to convert a drive with SONY ID is quite easy, just grab official VY05 firmware, grab Omnipatcher tool, load up firmware, check last box and bang install it over 832S [:)]
