df78 -> Creating a PSX Image. (10/4/2002 12:38:17 PM)

Hi everyone.

I need help on creating a psx cd from a cdrom. Problem is that the disc works fine on the PlayStation and on the emulator, but when I tried to copy it, there were tons of errors. I have tried Clone CD and Nero but without success. The image is not playable at all.

I had burnt the disc with Nero using a bin/cue files. There were no errors reported by Nero at all.

I have this question in my mind for a long time:-

----> PSX games burned using Clone CD will still be copyable (ie, creating an image from the CD) but games that were burnt with Nero (bin/cue) would not be copyable.

Is that true?

Please help me.

By the way, I got my bin/cue from my original PSX CD, which is now blurred.[:D]

I have to ask you one thing first. Is your Play Station Chipped? If not it will not play copied games....

Hi there, My PlayStation is chipped. The fact is that when I tried to copy disc burned with bin/cue, I get lots of errors. But when I burned them using CloneCD (converts the bin/cue to CCD), no errors at all. Why?

By the way, both copies are playable on my PlayStation.

Forgot to add, for bin/cue, I burned them using DAO/96 for Nero.

Not sure on that, I always use CloneCD to do my backups, and they all seem to work ok. Never did any PSX games with NERO... Anyone else?

Did you evern burned any bin/cue before? How did you manage to burn them using CloneCD?

Tron -> RE: Creating a PSX Image. (10/4/2002 1:38:10 PM)

I do not use CloneCD to do Bin/Cue files. I use a program called Alcohol 120% that does a very nice job of it. As a matter of fact it will do PSX games as well. You just select the profile you want and burn. If you already have the bin/cue files just select "Burn Image" and select the cue file and burn.....

For a moment, I thought you were joking ...

But anyway, when you burn your games using Clone CD (version 4), what's your settings like ?

Did you close the last session?
Did you repair Subchannel?

Thanks!

btw, is there a list of protected PSX Games. There used to be one but it seems to be down ...[:(]

Tron -> RE: Creating a PSX Image. (10/4/2002 4:36:22 PM)

Well if you use the latest CloneCD, they have profiles. All you need to do is select "PSX" and the settings are there for you.

df78 -> RE: Creating a PSX Image. (10/4/2002 5:08:20 PM)

I have only 4 profiles, audio cd, data cd, game cd and the other one, i forgot. Do I have to create a profile?

btw, sometimes when I burned using clone cd, the disc won't even boot up at all. The spinning comes to a halt and don't spin again. Wonder if that's because of my old lens or it it because I did not burned it properly?

Did you repair subchannel data?

Thanks!

Tron -> RE: Creating a PSX Image. (10/5/2002 12:43:37 AM)

In the read section check "Read Subchannel Data" "Read Subchannel Audio" and in the write section check "Write Subchannel Data Uncorrected".... I think that these are the settings you want.

Though CloneCD uses its propietory format (.ccd), you can mount the .ISO in D-Tools and burn from there using CCD

Hi Tron, Thank you very much for the response. This was my settings and it's a on and off thing for me. Sometimes, the game works while at times it doesn't. Wonder if it's my lens problem?

Audio subs are not required for LibCrypt.

But setting them to read will not hurt. I use these settings and they seem to work fine. So I say if it works leave it alone. Let us stick to what will work. df78 you are welcome, I would also try a program called Alcohol 120% it too has a profile to copy PSX games. Just select the Copy Wizard, and select the PSX profile.

Almost forgot one thing, and was surprised that I was not corrected here[:D]. If it works sometimes and not others you might try to slow the read and write down a bit to see if this helps. Also might try a diff brand CD.
