billbruen -> Burning MP3's onto DVD-R media (10/1/2002 11:44:19 PM)
Is it possible to burn MP3's onto DVD-R media so that it will play on a set-top, stand-alone DVD player that can handle MP3's?
Or do these set-top players only read MP3's when recorded onto CDR?
I've used Nero Express to burn both a data project and an audio/mp3 project onto DVD-R. Neither disk plays in my sons set-top machine.
Either the Nero files are faulty or my sons machine is faulty or I'm using DVD media when I should be using CD....
Any clues......?

I don't know if that will work, since most DVD players that can playback MP3 files, look for CD format. Maybe in future DVD players can playback MP3 files also from DVD recordable/re-writable media
John is absolutely correct. Currently all DVD players that also play the MP3 format look for a Compact Disc, not a Digital Video Disc. This may change in the future, as storage media grows and grows. I would like to see this feature on DVD's. You could load alot of MP3's onto a DVD for endless enjoyment!
